Skylights leak when the flashing kit is old or the roof was woven around a bad curb. We replace the unit, rebuild the curb flashing, and tie ice & water into the field. New openings need framing and a dry interior finish by others unless we contract that too.
Problems it solves
- Fogged glass
- Stains under a skylight
- Wanting a new opening
Properties
- Residential steep-slope
Materials and systems
- Curb-mount or deck-mount units
- Flashing kits
- Ice & water
How we install
- Measure the opening
- Unit spec
- Set and flash
- Interior patch by others if needed
What affects price
- Size
- Type
- Number of units
- New hole vs replacement
We do not publish a menu of exact prices. Cost depends on measure, materials, conditions, complexity, and final scope.
Benefits
- A dry, current unit
- Flashing that matches the new roof
Limits
- Structural new openings may need an engineer. Interior drywall is a separate trade unless scoped.
Questions
Should I replace skylights with the roof?
If they are original to an old roof, usually yes. The flashing kit will not outlive a second roof.
